Chattahoochee River Summer Splash — This really fun annual event begins at Morgan Falls Dam and finishes at Cochran Shoals – Powers Island National Recreation Center. You can bring your own raft or kayak or rent one from a local outfitter and enjoy the relaxing and exciting 6-miile long float down the Chattahoochee River. After the event you can spend the rest of the afternoon at Powers Island and enjoy live music, food, and fun with your friends and family.
Annual Sandy Springs Festival — This very popular event is held in September each year at the Sandy Springs Historic Site at 6075 Sandy Springs Circle. The festival includes fine arts and crafts with over 600 local artists from Georgia and around the Southeast, live musical performances, a pet parade, classic rides, a 5 and 10k running race, as well as gourmet food and other food options. It is a 2-day event held on both Saturday and Sunday, and people attend from all over the city and beyond. It is free and open to the public.

There are 32 retail stores here, which include shops and restaurants that offer gourmet foods, coffee from around the world, and distinctive wines. There are also lots of upscale clothing boutiques that offer unique choices for the discerning buyer.
